Crusoe becomes Abilene power landlord

Diving deeper into

Crusoe

Company Report
Combined with the existing Stargate campus, Crusoe's total Abilene footprint is expected to reach approximately 2.1 GW.

The 2.1 GW figure shows Crusoe is no longer just renting GPUs, it is becoming a power landlord for frontier AI. In Abilene, the business now spans two distinct campuses, a 1.2 GW Stargate site financed with Blue Owl and Primary Digital, and a separate 900 MW Microsoft campus next door. That turns one Texas market into a multi customer infrastructure hub where Crusoe can monetize land, power, buildings, and cloud capacity at hyperscale.1 2 3 4

  • The math is straightforward. Crusoe said its new Microsoft campus is 900 MW and sits adjacent to its existing Abilene AI factory infrastructure, bringing the full Abilene site to 2.1 GW. The existing Stargate campus is the 1.2 GW base underneath that total.1 2
  • These are not speculative paper plans only. The Stargate site already has its first two buildings live on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with Oracle delivering NVIDIA GB200 racks in June 2025. The second phase funds six more buildings, pushing the campus to eight buildings and 1.2 GW.2 3 4
  • At this scale, Crusoe starts to look more like CoreWeave at the infrastructure layer. CoreWeave disclosed about 3.1 GW of contracted power capacity at the end of 2025, so Abilene alone would equal roughly two thirds of that. A single metro footprint of this size is unusual for an independent GPU cloud operator.5

The next step is clear. If Crusoe keeps stacking anchor tenants around giant powered campuses, it can move from a niche energy optimized GPU cloud into one of the few independent companies that sells AI infrastructure the way hyperscalers do, through long term power, land, and capacity commitments tied to the biggest model builders in the market.1 2 5
