Company Report
International expansion is a material and underappreciated growth vector.

Figma’s international footprint matters because usage is already global, while monetization still has room to catch up. About 85% of monthly active users were outside the U.S. in Q1 2025, but non U.S. markets were 53% of revenue, which means many of Figma’s biggest user bases are still earlier in paid seat expansion. The company is building the local plumbing needed to convert that demand, including Brazil localization, a Bengaluru office, and localized hosting plus governance features for India.1 2 3 4 5

  • This is how a browser based design tool expands internationally. Teams can start free without local sales coverage, then upgrade once product, engineering, and marketing are all collaborating in the same files. Figma’s own filings show the gap between overseas usage and overseas revenue, which is the clearest sign of latent seat expansion.1 2 6
  • India is a concrete example of what enterprise expansion requires. Localized file hosting lets Indian customers keep certain file data in country, and Governance+ adds admin controls for security, access, and compliance. Those features are not cosmetic localization, they are procurement unlocks for large companies and regulated teams.3 4
  • Figma’s pattern also matches other web native collaboration products. Once the product already works across borders, the next growth step is opening regional offices and meeting local compliance rules. Figma’s Bengaluru expansion and Brazil support suggest it is moving from organic international adoption into a more deliberate enterprise capture phase.2 3 5

The next leg is turning international usage into larger paid deployments, especially in India, Brazil, and other high user density markets outside the U.S. As Figma adds more local hosting regions, governance features, and in market sales capacity, non U.S. revenue should keep moving closer to its share of global usage.1 2 3 4 5
