SCF Propel matters because it turns a hard replacement sale into a much easier overlay sale. Large enterprises often already run bank sponsored supply chain finance programs, so ripping one out is slow and political. Propel lets C2FO plug into that existing setup in under six weeks, prove value on supplier uptake and funding breadth first, then sell higher value software around which suppliers to target, what payment terms to offer, and where approval bottlenecks are hurting cash flow.

  • The first wedge is practical, not conceptual. FIS, through the former Demica platform, sells white label supply chain finance infrastructure to banks, which helps explain why incumbents are sticky. Propel sidesteps that head on displacement fight by sitting on top of legacy bank programs instead of demanding a full migration on day one.
  • Once C2FO is in the workflow, expansion comes from data. FinanceIQ analyzes receivables across buyers, flags delayed approvals and deductions, and advises on payment terms. That gives C2FO a software upsell even when a supplier is not taking early payment in a given month, which raises revenue per supplier beyond pure financing volume.
  • This is also a defense against adjacent payment platforms. Tipalti moved into early payments with NetNow from the AP automation side. C2FO is moving the other direction, from financing into analytics and supplier software, so the account can grow into a broader working capital relationship rather than a single early pay program.

The likely next step is for C2FO to make the overlay the default entry point for large enterprises, then use usage data to pull more of the program stack onto its platform over time. That would let C2FO win accounts that were previously closed off by bank incumbency, then compound value through software, funder mix, and program optimization.
