Owning the customer record is the step that turns Lunchbox from a checkout tool into the system a restaurant uses to decide who to message, what to sell next, and where each order should flow. In practice, that means putting web orders, app orders, loyalty activity, email clicks, and marketplace driven demand into one profile, so a brand can see one guest instead of five scattered records across POS, delivery apps, and marketing tools.

  • This is the economic heart of restaurant vertical SaaS. Delivery marketplaces can take about 30 percent of an order, while the newer owned stack aims for a blended cost closer to 10 to 11 percent by combining ordering, delivery, websites, loyalty, and messaging. The data layer is what makes that stack usable day to day.

The platform that knows who ordered, what channel converted them, and what offer brought them back will be able to sell more software, push into more verticals, and become the operating layer that sits between merchants and every demand source.
